Almost 70% of people surveyed worldwide say their governments should support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression, according to a GlobeScan survey.

The majority of people in all 30 surveyed countries and territories, except for Mexico, want their governments to support Ukraine.

The results show that, on average, 29% of those surveyed in countries and territories "strongly agree" that their government should support Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression, while another 40% "somewhat agree." Only 11% "strongly disagree" and 20% are "somewhat agree."

People in Portugal (86%), Sweden (81%), and Australia (80%) are the most supportive of Ukraine, followed by those in the UK (79%) and Canada (78%). Mexicans are least likely to want their government to support Ukraine (46%), followed by Colombians (51%), Indonesians (54%), Saudis (55%), and Peruvians (55%).

In the U.S., the country supplying the most military aid to Ukraine, 70% of people want their government to support Ukraine. In Germany, another key supplier of military aid, 66% are supportive.

Overall, people in the European and North American countries surveyed tend to be the most supportive of Ukraine, while those in Latin America express the least support.

The majority of people in all 30 surveyed countries and territories, except for Mexico, want their governments to support Ukraine.

The survey of nearly 30,000 people in 30 countries and territories was conducted in July and August of 2023. Approximately 1,000 people in each country took part in the global study that asked them about their attitudes, opinions, and behaviors around a range of important issues and challenges facing the world.

According to Reuters/Ipsos polling, support for supplying weapons to Ukraine is decreasing among Americans from both major political parties, which is a concerning sign for Kyiv, as it heavily relies on American weapons to combat the Russian invasion.
