The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova condemned the incident involving the violation of the country's airspace by a drone, which entered from Ukrainian territory on February 3, during another Russian attack, the online media resource Newsmaker reports.

The Ministry condemned the incident and stated that such actions pose a potential threat to Moldova's national security and its citizens.

"The Moldovan authorities are analyzing the circumstances of the incident and are actively engaging in dialogue with international partners to prevent similar situations and increase the security of the airspace," the statement from the Ministry said.

On the night of Monday, February 3, an unknown drone violated Moldova's airspace, flying over several populated areas of the country.

"At night, an unmanned aerial vehicle violated the airspace of the Republic of Moldova," the statement said.

Airspace violations during Russian attacks on Ukraine

This is not the first instance since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine where Russian drones have violated the airspace of other countries.

For instance, on November 10, two drones were detected over Moldova during another Russian air attack on Ukraine. At that time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova also strongly condemned Russia's actions.

In December 2024, a passerby found a drone near a shopping center in the capital of Moldova, Chișinău.
