Missile from Kursk region and 52 UAVs: How Ukraine's Air defense repells Russia's night attack

On the night of April 15, the Russian army launched a ballistic missile and 52 Shahed drones at the territory of Ukraine, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
According to the Ukrainian military, starting at 7:30 p.m. Kyiv time on April 14, the enemy attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile from the Kursk region, as well as 52 Shahed drones and various types of decoy UAVs from the directions of Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the aerial assault.
As of 12:00 p.m. on April 15, the downing of 26 Shahed-type attack drones and other types of drones in the east, north, and center of Ukraine has been confirmed.
In addition, 19 enemy decoy drones were lost locally without causing any negative consequences. Due to an enemy attack, the Sumy and Donetsk regions sustained damage.
This morning the Russians launched attack drones toward Ukraine. Because of this, an air raid alert was announced in a number of regions due to the threat of a drone strike. However, this is not a typical tactic of the Russians. Usually, they launch drones in the evening to make it harder for Ukrainian mobile air defense groups to shoot them down.
Yesterday in Sumy, an explosion occurred after a prolonged presence of an enemy drone in the sky - the entire city was shrouded in smoke.
