Mike Tyson’s son starts boxing career: Amir signs contract and confronts his rival

29-year-old Amir Tyson, son of former undisputed world champion Mike Tyson, is beginning his professional boxing career. The signing of a contract with Misfits Boxing was announced during a boxing event in Miami, according to Misfits Boxing’s official Instagram page.
Ringside confrontation and first plans
During the presentation, the promotion posted a video showing Amir Tyson challenging Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor. The opponent immediately approached the ring, and the two athletes had a tense staredown that security had to break up.
According to preliminary information, a fight with DeMoor is being considered as a future prospect:
- Amir will first have to take part in several warm-up bouts;
- the name of his first opponent and the exact date of his debut have not yet been announced.
Path to the ring and his father’s stance
Previously, Amir Tyson had been involved in boxing only outside the ring — he worked as a sports commentator, including at his father’s boxing show in 2024, and developed his own clothing brand.
His desire to try his hand at boxing emerged several years ago. In 2021, Amir wanted to fight blogger Logan Paul.
His legendary father tried to dissuade his son from pursuing a sports career and did not support the idea.
As a reminder, 60-year-old Mike Tyson last stepped into the ring on November 15, 2024, when he lost to Jake Paul by unanimous decision.
