In the US, a 42-year-old man was charged after attacking shoppers with a knife at a Walmart supermarket in Michigan on July 27, according to the BBC.

The suspect, Bradford James Hill, faces charges of terrorism and attempted murder.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 28 or 29.

The police are cautious about officially labeling the attack as terrorism since investigators have yet to determine the suspect’s motives. However, they stated that the terrorism charges are justified.

According to Michael Shea, sheriff of Grand Traverse County, law enforcement arrived at the scene within two minutes of the first call.

“At the time of the deputy's arrival, multiple citizens, including one who was armed with a pistol, were confronting the male suspect in the parking lot and preventing him from harming further people and leaving. The deputy took the suspect into custody without further incident,” Shea said.

Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino added that federal agents are providing full support for the investigation.
