Melania Trump’s activities during her month-long public absence revealed

Since US President Donald Trump’s inauguration for a second term, first lady Melania Trump has been demonstrating an unconventional approach to her duties. She rarely appears in public and, according to insiders, is focused on her own projects that bring her personal satisfaction.
The journalists from the People magazine have learned what exactly the "mysterious" first lady of the United States is engaged in.
Recently, Melania attended the Governor’s Ball at the White House. This was her first public appearance in a month. The last time she was seen with Donald was on January 24, when they visited areas in North Carolina and California affected by devastating wildfires.
Melania attended the official event in a "masculine" look by Dolce & Gabbana. She wore a black velvet tuxedo with satin lapels from the Italian brand and completed her outfit with a Ralph Lauren tuxedo shirt.
However, People writes that Melania's appearance at the White House does not mean she has decided to devote herself to the traditional duties of the First Lady of the United States. A source close to Trump notes that "she will never be a traditional First Lady" because "that isn’t who she is."
Instead, Melania is focused on initiatives that personally interest her. One of the main projects that genuinely concerns the wife of the American President is her upcoming documentary film for Amazon Prime Video, directed by Brett Ratner, which she is executive producing alongside Fernando Sulichin.
Filming is already underway, including at the White House. In fact, this is reportedly the reason Melania returned to Washington from Mar-a-Lago (a resort villa located on a barrier island in Palm Beach that belongs to Donald Trump - ed.), where she now spends most of her time.
What exactly the film will be about and when it is scheduled for release is unknown. However, Variety reports that the film is set to premiere in the second half of 2025.
According to sources, Melania wants to accompany her husband to events only in "appropriate cases," when her presence is truly necessary. Apparently, this refers to major international events.
Interestingly, an insider also reports that although Melania and Donald often stay in the same house - at Mar-a-Lago - they barely communicate there. They only occasionally cross paths at dinner.

However, the 54-year-old Melania is not only occupied with film production. One of her official projects as first lady, which she previously promised to work on throughout her husband’s second presidency, is the revival of her "Be Best" initiative. Originally launched in May 2018 as an "awareness campaign" to help children combat online bullying and the opioid epidemic, the initiative is back in focus.
In January, she told Fox & Friends that she hopes to "expand" the initiative after streaming platforms were not very supportive of it during Donald’s first term.
"Imagine what we could do in those years if they will rally behind me and teach the children and protect them about social media and their mental health. It will be an exciting four years. We have a lot to do," Melania said.

Earlier, sources said that Melania is uncomfortable in politics because "it’s not her world." She is much more interested in spending time with her family and friends. At the same time, while public image is extremely important for her husband, Melania "doesn’t care at all" about how she is perceived by the press and society.
Meanwhile, the first lady of the United States has emphasized in interviews that she is "not just an appendage" to her husband.
"I have my own thoughts, I have my own yes and no, I don't always agree with what my husband is saying or doing, and that's OK," Melania said in one episode of Fox & Friends.
