Meghan Markle devastated by tragedy in her family: 'He was the best guy'

Meghan Markle, who recently returned to Instagram, reported a grief in the family - her dog named Guy died.
She dedicated a large post to her pet, telling how it appeared in her life.
"In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up… and fell in love," Markle wrote touchingly.
"They referred to him as ‘the little guy’ because he was so small and frail, so I named him ‘Guy’. And he was the best guy any girl could have asked for," said Prince Harry's wife.
Megan also noted that Guy was there for her at different times in her life: when she got engaged, married, and became a mother.
"He was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort," she said.
She recalled that the dog had also been in an accident shortly before Megan moved to the UK.
"He endured a terrible accident shortly before I moved to the UK which had him undergoing surgeries for several months and unable to leave the clinic. Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick said he could do it," she recalled.
Meghan Markle also noted that viewers will be able to see her pet in the show "With Love, Meghan", which will be released on Netflix on January 15.
"Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too," said the Duchess of Sussex.
She also thanked her dog for many years of unconditional love.
"I have cried too many tears to count... Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life," she concluded.
Meghan Markle was an actress before she met Prince Harry. She officially ended her career a month before her wedding to Prince Harry in April 2018.
The couple has two children: Prince Archie of Sussex (born in 2019) and Princess Lilibeth of Sussex (born in 2021).

On January 8, 2020, the couple announced their withdrawal from the royal family and renunciation of all royal duties, which caused a wide public outcry and remained the most discussed event of that year. The couple then moved from the United Kingdom to the United States.
