Throughout the territory of the United States of America on Thursday morning, a widespread telephone network outage was recorded, according to CNN.

According to the material, as a result of the AT&T network outage, customers were unable to make phone calls, send text messages, or access the internet. Problems with communication are known to affect at least 47,000 users. However, this number may increase.

"Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored," AT&T said in a statement.

In addition to AT&T, customers of Verizon and T-Mobile also reported communication issues, although they were not as widespread as those experienced by AT&T.

The network outage also led to issues with the operation of the American emergency service 911. Specialists reported that some Americans were unable to reach the emergency service.

Attack on Kyivstar, the largest electronic communications operator in Ukraine

A massive disruption occurred in the operations of the telecommunication company Kyivstar on December 12, 2023. During the outage, mobile communication, mobile, and home internet were unavailable for several days.

According to Ilia Vitiuk, head of the SSU's cybersecurity department, the attack resulted in the destruction of "almost everything," including thousands of virtual servers and PCs. He described it as likely the first example of a devastating cyberattack that "completely destroyed the core of the communication operator."

According to the SSU's estimates, Russian hackers may have stolen personal information, identified phone locations, intercepted SMS messages, and possibly stolen Telegram accounts with the level of access they obtained.
