Significant smoke was also reported in the city, prompting Miroshnychenko to urge residents to limit their time outdoors.

Several local channels claimed that a wallpaper factory in Koriukivka was on fire, though this has not yet been confirmed by official sources.

In addition, Russian forces simultaneously attacked several settlements in the Sosnytsia community.

"According to the military, the strike was likely carried out using a ballistic missile and UAVs. Information about casualties is being verified. I remind residents of the district to stay in safe places during air raid alerts," Miroshnychenko added.

The extent of the damage from the attack remains unclear.

Russian forces have recently intensified their attacks on the Chernihiv region.

For instance, on the night of September 30, drones targeted the town of Bobrovytsia in the Nizhyn district. The strike hit an industrial enterprise as well as critical and transport infrastructure. As a result, more than 26 consumers were left without power, and train services were delayed.
