Massive drone attack on Kyiv: air defence downs all Russian UAVs
Ukrainian Air Defense Forces have successfully neutralized all Shahed drones Russia used to attack Kyiv during the night of August 2, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klytschko.
Groups of drones breached Kyiv's airspace simultaneously from multiple directions. However, Ukraine's air defence detected and destroyed all the aerial threats, which was more than 10 Shahed drones.
Debris from the unmanned aerial vehicles was reported to have fallen in various districts of Kyiv, including Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi. Some non-residential buildings and roads suffered damage.
Last night, on 2 August, the Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones. Air defence forces had been monitoring the movements of hostile drones and promptly responded using anti-aircraft defense systems, downing all the UAVs. The explosions from the intercepted drones were audible in the capital city.
