Magnetic storms: Weekly forecast of all unfavorable dates
The beginning of January will bring magnetic storms of moderate power, as well as red-level storms. Such storms can cause headaches and deterioration of health for many people on the planet.
Timing of magnetic storms
According to experts, several magnetic storms are expected in the coming days.
January 6 - red-level magnetic storm, K-index 5
January 7 - a weak magnetic storm
January 8 - a weak magnetic storm
January 9 - a weak magnetic storm
January 10 - moderate magnetic storm, K-index 4. Weather-sensitive people may feel unwell.
January 11 - red-level magnetic storm, K-index 5
January 12 - red-level magnetic storm of K-index 5
Magnetic storms with a level of K-index 5 or higher are red-level storms that can affect human health. They cause headaches, weakness, drowsiness, and decreased performance.
Such storms can also cause malfunctioning of communication sources: satellites, GPRS, mobile and radio communications.
It is worth remembering that all scientists' forecasts are preliminary, as solar activity is very variable and the situation can change up to several times a day. Explosions and flares occur on the Sun every day, and some of them can affect the Earth's magnetosphere.
Why a magnetic storm occurs
Daily flares and explosions on the Sun result in the release of a large part of charged energy particles (protons and electrons) into space. They have the ability to move quickly in space and reach the Earth's atmosphere.
After that, they interact with the magnetic field of our planet, and this causes a disturbance that scientists call magnetic storms.
How a magnetic storm can affect a person
Weak magnetic storms are hardly felt by humans, while moderate storms can be felt by people who are more sensitive to weather changes and magnetic fluctuations.
All storms above K-index 5 are red-level storms, which are felt by most people on Earth. They cause poor health and affect telecommunications.
The most common problems:
- Headache
- Migraine
- Fog in the head
- Drowsiness
- Nausea
- Decreased performance and concentration
- Rapid fatigue
- Aggressiveness, irritability, anxiety
- Mood swings
- Apathy, depressive states
- Pain in the muscles
- Problems with the cardiovascular system
Many studies in recent years have confirmed that magnetic storms can affect human health. On such days, people visit doctors more often and complain of feeling unwell.
One study showed that a magnetic storm can affect bioelectrical processes in the human body and cause sleep disturbances, decreased performance and concentration, and increased anxiety and irritability.
How to protect yourself
The general recommendations of doctors at the time of magnetic storms are very simple: follow a normal daily routine, get more rest, drink enough water, and breathe fresh air.
You should limit the amount of coffee and energy drinks, alcohol, and junk food. Also, in the evening, you should put away your gadgets and relax in a calm atmosphere.
If you feel worse, you should consult a doctor for advice.
