A drink that will help you get in shape after the holidays

You can, of course, opt for herbal tea. Check if you have mint, sage, and chamomile. Just a few servings will help deal with the problem of feeling overly full. But another option can be found in the vegetable section of the refrigerator. The drink for improved digestion will surprise you with its main active ingredient.

How and why does parsley root decoction help?

Parsley, including its leaves and roots, has been used in traditional medicine for over 2000 years. You probably know this herb well and may even drink it as tea for low iron levels, high sugar levels, or to support kidney function.

Many sprinkle it on almost every dish and add it to green smoothies (it has a diuretic effect and supports digestion). The leaves contain a huge amount of vitamin C, vitamins A, B2, K, iron, calcium, and magnesium. It's a wonderful strengthening and regenerating ingredient in the kitchen.

Parsley root is usually used in soups and broths. Few know that parsley root decoction is also a remedy for digestive issues.

Parsley stimulates the secretion of gastric acid. You can use it to help with low acidity. For increased acidity, it's better to use other infusions.

Parsley root also supports liver function, as it has a cholagogue effect, helping to digest fats (which are abundant in festive dishes).

The parsley drink also acts as a diuretic, supporting the work of the kidneys and pancreas.

The parsley drink for better digestion will help with:

  • bloating
  • gas
  • heaviness in the stomach from overeating
  • feelings of heaviness and fullness in the stomach
  • chronic stomach disorder

How to make parsley drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh grated parsley root (can be replaced with 2 tablespoons of dried parsley root)

Directions:

1. Put the parsley in cold water and bring to a boil. Simmer covered for 15 minutes over low heat. Then let it sit for another 15 minutes to cool. Strain it.

2. Drink parsley root decoction 2-3 times a day between meals (30 minutes before or 1.5 hours after meals).

3. You can also sip on it throughout the day. If you want to detoxify your body after the holidays, drink it for 7-14 days. Since parsley infusion stimulates kidney function, don't forget to drink plain water without additives to avoid dehydration. This will also help you get back in shape and detoxify your body.
