Kyiv region targeted overnight: 186 aerial targets downed, strikes reported at 28 locations

During the night of August 20, Russia carried out an air attack using various types of missiles and drones. The main direction of the enemy strike was the Kyiv region, according to a report from the Ukrainian Air Force.
What Russia attacked Ukraine with on August 20
During the new strikes, the enemy used:
- Missiles that approach the target along a ballistic trajectory (Oniks, Zircon, Iskander-M, S-400);
- 36 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise/air-launched missiles;
- 8 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 2 Banderol loitering munitions;
- 168 Shahed-type strike UAVs, Gerbera drones, and Parodiya-type decoy drones.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the Russian attack.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:30 am, Ukrainian defenders shot down/suppressed:
- 31 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise missiles;
- 8 Kalibr cruise missiles;
- 2 Banderol loitering munitions;
- 145 drones of various types.
Air defense forces repelled the enemy attack in the north, south, east, and center of the country.
"Hits by enemy air attack weapons were recorded at 28 locations, as well as the fall of downed targets (debris) at 2 locations," the Ukrainian Air Force added.
They also emphasized that the Russian air attack is still ongoing.
