Kremniy plant in Bryansk, Russia, suspends work after drone strikes
The Russian plant Kremniy EL in the Bryansk region was attacked by drones on the night of January 24. The plant has suspended operations, according to Astra and the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko.
Russian media reported that the Kremniy EL plant suspended operations on Friday, January 24. According to the Russians, part of the plant's production facilities was damaged as a result of the drone attack.
"The Kremniy plant is suspending operations in Bryansk following a series of hits last night. It is among the TOP 2 producers of microelectronics for missiles and air defense systems in Russia," wrote Kovalenko.
As the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation previously noted, the Kremniy EL plant produces microelectronics for missile systems, the Pantsir air defense systems, Iskander missiles, as well as for radars, electronic warfare systems, and Russian drones.
The Telegram channel Astra writes that a building belonging to Russia's Investigative Committee was also damaged in Bryansk.
"Explosive" night in Russia
Russians complained of a massive drone attack during the night. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that more than 120 drones were allegedly neutralized and destroyed. At the same time, 37 drones were reportedly shot down in the Bryansk region.
Information about strikes on the Kremniy plant in the Bryansk region was already being shared online during the night. Local residents posted footage of explosions and fires near the plant. This plant has been attacked repeatedly in the past.
In addition, an oil refinery and another plant in the Ryazan region were also hit.
