Kosovo PM pelted with eggs during parliamentary session

A parliamentary session in the partially recognized state of Kosovo was disrupted following a confrontation between an opposition lawmaker and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, according to KOHA.
Tensions in the chamber escalated after Kurti proposed postponing the constituent session. The prime minister said he needed more time to negotiate with political parties before nominating a candidate for parliamentary speaker.
Kurti then took his seat. At that point, Tëme Kadriaj, a lawmaker from the Alliance party, approached him. She took eggs out of her bag and threw them at the prime minister several times.
During the incident, the lawmaker shouted, "Shame, shame." The parliamentary session was subsequently disrupted.
The incident involving Kurti drew the attention of international media. In particular, The Guardian published a video of the incident under the headline "Kosovo MP throws eggs at prime minister."
Kosovo has been in a political deadlock for nearly two years. Disputes between political parties have made it difficult to form and operate the parliament.
As a reminder, early parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on June 7. Prime Minister Albin Kurti's Self-Determination party again won the most votes - 47.13% - but secured 53 of the 120 seats and failed to win a majority.
This prevented the country from overcoming its political crisis: Kurti needs the support of other political forces to form a stable government and resolve the country's institutional problems.
