Kherson drone assault: Russia hits civilian bus, dead and wounded reported
Russia has targeted public transportation in Kherson for the second consecutive day. On December 1, a drone attack killed three people and injured seven others, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
"At around 8:15 a.m., Russian forces attacked public transport in the Dnipro district using a UAV. Unfortunately, there are casualties and injuries," Prokudin stated.
According to preliminary data, this latest act of terrorism claimed the lives of three civilians.
"Details are being clarified. Seven Kherson residents sustained injuries. All the injured have been transported to hospitals, where medical professionals are conducting examinations and providing necessary care," Prokudin added.
Eleven casualties confirmed
The occupiers struck civilians again, dropping explosives on a passenger minibus.
"Currently, we know of 11 casualties. Three individuals suffered injuries incompatible with life. Eight others are in the hospital," Prokudin confirmed.
He reported that six Kherson residents were diagnosed with mine-blast injuries.
"A 56-year-old woman suffered shrapnel wounds to her head, arms, and legs. A 70-year-old resident sustained a fractured shinbone. All injured individuals are under medical supervision," he noted.
Shelling of Kherson
Kherson was liberated from Russian occupation in the fall of 2022 after being under enemy control since February of the same year. However, the left bank of the Kherson region remains under Russian occupation.
Russian forces regularly shell Kherson from the occupied areas. Often, they deliberately target civilians and public transportation in the city. For instance, on November 30, Russian troops attacked a passenger bus in Kherson using a drone, injuring multiple passengers.
