Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia under fire: University, homes and military offices hit in new attack (photos, video)

Today, on July 7, Russia launched a massive drone strike on Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. The enemy targeted the buildings of the regional military recruitment centers.

Attack on Zaporizhzhia
Around 10 am (Kyiv time), the Air Force reported a threat of attack drones for Zaporizhzhia and the region. Within 20 minutes, local authorities confirmed the explosions in the city as a result of the drone attack.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, six strikes by Shahed-type kamikaze drones were recorded.
Eleven people have been injured and required medical assistance. Eight people were hospitalized, and three more were treated on the spot. The condition of the victims, who are under medical supervision, is assessed as average.
Fedorov also posted video and photos from the scene, which show the extent of the destruction. Among the damaged objects is the building of one of the universities, where, according to the available photos, the roof caught fire.

Today, the enemy carried out 4 strikes on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center.
"The victims are servicemen from the security company. The ones who were transferred from combat units based on the conclusions of the Military Medical Commission. The ones who fought the occupier on the front line," the press service of the Zaporizhzhia TRC and SSC reported.
Two servicemen were hospitalized in moderate condition. Fourteen civilians sustained injuries of varying severity. Private residential buildings and vehicles were damaged.
"We understand why this is happening. This is more of an informational attack aimed at mobilization efforts and the emotions of Ukrainian citizens. It is unfortunate that in some cases the enemy’s actions receive support from Ukrainians themselves," the military noted.

According to the State Emergency Service, 20 people were injured during the attack on Zaporizhzhia, including 12 women and 8 men.
"Rescuers were working simultaneously at three locations. Residential buildings, an administrative building, and a building of one of the city's higher education institutions were on fire. The blast wave destroyed nearby residential buildings," the statement said.
In total, 118 rescuers and 26 units of SES equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences of the Russian attack. All the injured are receiving the necessary assistance. The number of those injured is being clarified.
Attack on Kharkiv
On the morning of July 7, the Russian army attacked Kharkiv with drones. The Kholodnohirskyi district was hit - at least six strikes were recorded.
According to mayor Ihor Terekhov, explosions were heard in the city as several drones hit residential buildings. Fires broke out as a result of the attack, damaging private homes, cars, power lines, and transportation infrastructure.
One of the drones hit a two-story building, and another hit a roadway near a home. In some places, the drones caused large-scale destruction - cars were burnt out, windows were smashed, and facades were damaged.
As of noon, the number of victims increased to 11, with 7 people in hospitals. One person is in a very serious condition. All the injured are being provided with qualified medical care.
At 12:10 pm, Terekhov clarified that 16 people have been injured in the latest strike on Kharkiv.
The services are working on the ground. People are being provided with medical assistance.

Terekhov reported that after two morning attacks, a total of 43 civilians are already known to have been injured.

The number of injured people as a result of the latest attack has increased to 33.
Among the injured are three children: boys aged 8 and 17 and a 10-year-old girl. They had an acute stress reaction. Doctors are providing all the injured with the necessary assistance.

Syniehubov reported that between 05:20 and 10:30 in the morning, the enemy struck Kharkiv with 10 drones. Civilian infrastructure was damaged in three districts of Kharkiv – Shevchenkivskyi, Slobidskyi, and Kholodnohirskyi.
At least 66 people are known to have been injured, including 6 children. Eight of the injured, including 2 children, are currently in hospitals.
Unfortunately, one person was killed as a result of the second strike.
What the Land Forces say
According to the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in Kharkiv, drones hit the building of the Kharkiv regional recruitment and social support center, as well as the surrounding area.
In Zaporizhzhia, a drone strike was recorded near the regional recruitment center, injuring one soldier. Emergency services are working on the spot.
"Emergency services are working at the scene. Additional information about the victims is being clarified," the military command said.
Against the backdrop of these attacks, the Vinnytsia recruitment and social support center announced that it had suspended its activities.
