After several years of a forced break, Jon Bon Jovi is preparing to return to performing live. The legendary musician, who was once forced to step away from the stage due to serious vocal problems, says he is feeling much better and is ready to get back to doing what he loves, PEOPLE reports.

Four years of fighting for his voice

Health issues forced the Bon Jovi frontman to rethink his plans. Due to problems with his vocal cords, the artist underwent a complex surgery and began a lengthy recovery process.

After the 2022 tour, he had a vocal cord medialization procedure to repair the damage.

"I’d often joked and said the only thing that’s ever been up my nose was my finger. I never did anything to hurt the cords; I didn’t have any excesses. I’m a trained vocalist. I’ve practiced the craft. So when a doctor had to explain to me that one of the cords was literally atrophying, it was confusing," he shared.

Over the past few years, the musician has worked closely with doctors and specialists to regain his ability to perform at a high level. Bon Jovi has repeatedly admitted that the recovery process was far from easy and required a great deal of patience and determination.

Rock legend returns to the stage

Now, the artist says he is gradually returning to live performances. For millions of fans around the world, the announcement comes as long-awaited news, as questions about his comeback have lingered for years.

According to the musician, he did not want to return to the stage until he was fully confident in his abilities and vocal condition. That is why he dedicated all of this time to treatment and recovery.

"It was longer than I’d ever expected, but it had to be right. We never lost faith," the singer noted.

A special comeback

Jon Bon Jovi remains one of the most recognizable rock performers in the world, while Bon Jovi has spent decades filling stadiums and releasing hits known by multiple generations of fans.

As for Ukraine, the singer has openly supported the country since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion. In particular, the musician joined international charitable initiatives aimed at helping Ukrainian refugees and urged the world not to remain indifferent to the tragedy.

Moreover, in 2022, Bon Jovi shared a video from Odesa showing local residents preparing the city for defense against Russian occupiers while their global hit "It's My Life" played in the background.

During concerts, Bon Jovi has also expressed support for Ukrainians from the stage and dedicated performances to them. As a result, the rock icon became one of the world's most prominent musicians to publicly back Ukraine during the war.
