Israeli President Isaac Herzog called on the peoples of Lebanon and Iran to “rise up” and confront the anti-Israeli axis led by Tehran. This happened on October 6, the day before the anniversary of Hamas' invasion of Israel, reports The Times of Israel.

“If we confront it and be tough together, we surely can hope for a better future and create a NATO-like structure in the region that blocks radicalism,” he said on the Saudi TV channel Al Arabiya.

At the same time, Herzog did not say how Israel could respond to Iran's missile attack last week. He only said, “We are calculating all calculations in this respect.”

Speaking on the day before the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks, Herzog said that the war against Israel is being waged by an evil empire led by Iran, and by fighting, the Israeli state is giving hope to the people of the Middle East.

“This war has been waged against us by the empire of evil, by Iran and its proxies. We have 101 hostages still in the dungeons of Gaza, in immense suffering. And we are fighting in the north and in the south, meaning in Gaza and in Lebanon. We are trying to change the equation and bring hope for the people of the Middle East,” he said.

Herzog called this moment a “golden opportunity” for states that want a better future for the Middle East to move forward with new ideas and new plans to resolve the conflict.

The president also asserted that Israel abides by international law and cares deeply about its neighbors.
