Israeli army eliminates Hezbollah expert on missile production
At the beginning of this week, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated one of the leaders of Hezbollah's precision-guided missile development program, according to the IDF Telegram channel.
The IDF killed Mahmoud Yusef Anisi in the Beirut area, using intelligence data for the operation. Anisi was a crucial figure in Hezbollah’s weapons production campaign in Lebanon and an essential source of knowledge on the group’s technological capabilities in weapons manufacturing.
Anisi joined Hezbollah over 15 years ago and, as an engineering expert, played a critical role in advancing the terrorist group's strategic weapons development.
Israel's military operation against Hezbollah
In recent months, clashes between Israel and Lebanon have escalated significantly. Hezbollah militants have regularly shelled northern Israel with artillery and rockets, prompting the IDF to retaliate by destroying Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon.
At the end of September, an IDF strike on Beirut killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This escalated tensions in the Middle East and led to a revenge strike from Iran.
On October 1, the Israeli army launched a limited military operation in Lebanon aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s infrastructure.
The Israeli Chief of the General Staff stated that Hezbollah militants will not be allowed to remain in southern Lebanon.
