Israel will decide on response to Iran's attack soon - IDF
The Israeli government is weighing a "a wide range of options" to respond to Iran's recent attack. The decision will be made today, April 15, or in the near future, according to Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Peter Lerner.
According to Lerner, the military has presented a "spectrum of response options" to respond to Iran's missile strike. Israel's response could be "strike or no strike." Both options include "a lot of different scenarios."
He said that the government will make a decision on further steps today, April 15, or in the coming days.
Response to Iran's attack
According to The Wall Street Journal, the President of the United States called on Israel to be cautious in its response to the recent attack, to avoid an open war in the Middle East and not to involve the United States.
Official sources said that American and Western officials expect Israel to quickly respond to Iran's attacks, as early as Monday. But they hope that both countries will be able to emerge with a sense of victory, allowing them to limit the escalation of tensions.
Iran's attack on Israel
On the night of April 14, Iran launched a massive attack on Israel, using hundreds of drones and missiles. Following the attack, the IDF reported that almost all aerial targets were destroyed, and the damage from the attack was minimal.
The attack was in response to Israel's strike on Iran's embassy in Syria, which resulted in the death of several generals.
