Israel plans to transfer warning systems for missile attacks to Ukraine - UN envoy
Israel is actively working on providing Ukraine with early warning mechanisms for missile and drone attacks, according to Israel's Representative to the UN, Gilad Erdan, during the UN General Assembly session.
Erdan highlighted that within the first week of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Israel sent over 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Additionally, hundreds of Ukrainians have received medical treatment in Israeli hospitals and rehabilitation centers.
Furthermore, the Israeli diplomat asserted that Iran is supplying drones to Russia for use in the war on Ukrainian territory.
In other news, the District Court in Tel Aviv has decided to streamline the conditions for Ukrainian refugees in Israel. Under the new rule, all refugees from Ukraine will be granted type 2A5 visas, entitling them to employment, medical insurance, and the opening of bank accounts. These visas will be valid until December 31, 2024, with the possibility of extension.
Ukrainians in Israel falling under the collective protection directive are eligible to obtain type 2A5 visas, with issuance expected no later than March 3, 2024. Ukrainian citizens can apply for these visas at the offices of the Population and Immigration Authority.
