India has issued an advisory urging its citizens residing in the Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk regions of Russia to evacuate. The government recommends temporarily relocating to other parts of the country, citing the Indian Embassy in Moscow.

The Indian diplomatic mission in Moscow has published these official recommendations on its website.

"In view of recent security incidents in Bryansk, Belgorod, and Kursk regions, Indian nationals are advised to take necessary precautions and temporarily relocate outside these regions," the embassy said.

Indian citizens in Russia are also advised to contact the embassy for further assistance.

Situation in Kursk region

Last week, on August 6, a significant breach occurred near the border of the Kursk region. Russian military and authorities were reportedly unprepared. Reports indicate a substantial amount of Russian equipment was destroyed, with numerous Russian soldiers captured, including conscripts, and some killed.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is nearing its strategic objective within the framework of this operation. It is known that Russia is evacuating residents from the Kursk region, but relocating them to occupied settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, attempting to "hide" them from other Russian citizens. The Kremlin fears these evacuees might reveal the truth about the war and the Ukrainian armed forces, who are vastly different from the so-called Nazis portrayed on Russian TV.

Additionally, RBC-Ukraine reported that Ukraine has offered Russian residents in the Kursk region the option to evacuate through humanitarian corridors, either to Ukraine or Russia.
