Germany says it faces 'hybrid war' every day

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that his country today faces various attacks on a daily basis as part of hybrid warfare, reports Reuters .
According to the minister, foreign states seek to subdue Germany both politically and socially. They are sowing fear in Germany.
"We're not at war, but we are the daily target of hybrid warfare," Dobrindt said. "Espionage, sabotage, cyberattacks, or covert operations by foreign powers aimed at destabilising Germany or inflicting direct harm are a constant reality," Dobrindt said.
He made the statement after a drone with explosives was discovered at Leipzig Airport on Tuesday. Some lawmakers have blamed Russia for the incident.
The German army reported on Saturday that two drones were spotted late in the evening over the German military base in Meckenheim.
Dobrindt, for his part, highlighted the expansion of drone research in Germany as part of the response to the new threats.
What else is important to know
US intelligence also linked the Leipzig Airport incident — where a drone was spotted near a Ukrainian An-124 aircraft — to Russia.
On Saturday, August 8, the flight of unknown drones was recorded over a Bundeswehr logistics facility where Patriot air defense systems are being repaired.
