Another railway strike is starting in Germany. On March 12, train services across the country are expected to be canceled. During the strike, Deutsche Bahn (DB) will ensure limited operation of intercity and regional trains, according to DW and bahn.de.

Yesterday, the train drivers' union GDL announced a new strike on the German railway. The union demands reducing the working week from 38 to 35 hours while maintaining wages. Earlier, they declared they would no longer give 48-hour notice before strikes.

On March 11 at 6 pm, freight transport workers will stop working, and they will finish striking after 24 hours. Passenger transport drivers will strike from 2 am on March 12, also for 24 hours.

According to the DB website, intercity, regional, and S-Bahn services will be significantly affected across the country. During the strike, DB will provide basic transport services. Passengers are advised to check on the DB website which trains will be canceled, where they will partially run, and where bus replacements will be organized.

Passengers will be able to cancel their tickets free of charge or use them later.

Last week in Germany, train drivers of Deutsche Bahn and ground staff of Lufthansa airline went on strike.

Earlier, there were reports of strikes on local transport in Germany, which took place in almost all federal states.
