The idea of rejuvenating the body is extremely popular today. Social media is actively promoting biohacking, various supplements, cold baths, and other secrets of longevity. However, the aging process itself is actually much simpler, according to Ukrainian geneticist Oleksandr Koliada.

What is known about aging

According to the expert, a person cannot return their body to the state it was in ten years ago, but they can influence the rate of aging.

“A person and their body age. They can age faster or slower. But the idea that at 40 you can make your body like it was at 30 is more of a futuristic concept,” he explained.

Three habits that are most harmful to health

As the geneticist notes, the factors that accelerate aging have long been known and are not sensational. The three habits that most harm the body are:

  • Smoking
It negatively affects the cardiovascular system, lungs, and cellular health.

  • Overeating
Excess calories disrupt metabolism and can contribute to chronic diseases.

  • Sedentary lifestyle
Insufficient physical activity worsens the function of many bodily systems.

According to the expert, these factors often have a much greater impact on lifespan and quality of life than any trendy practices.

Why there is no magic pill

The expert emphasizes that there is no universal method of rejuvenation. Popular trends often create the illusion of quick results, but in reality, health depends on the basics — lifestyle, nutrition, and physical activity.

Therefore, instead of searching for a “magic pill,” it is better to focus on simple habits that really work: a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and giving up harmful habits.

According to the geneticist, it is precisely these basic choices that can significantly influence how quickly the body ages and how a person feels in later years.
