French ambassador found dead in Sri Lanka
The French ambassador to Sri Lanka, Jean-François Pactet, was found dead in his official residence, according to the Daily Mirror.
Preliminary data suggests that the 53-year-old Paktet died of cardiac arrest. However, the police are conducting an investigation and plan to carry out an autopsy.
"The French ambassador to Sri Lanka, Jean Francois Pactet, died of a suspected cardiac arrest at his official residence in Rajagiriya today," the statement said.
It was later revealed that the ambassador had not left his room throughout the day. He was found dead during a check-up.
Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences over the diplomat's death.
Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that the condition of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico remains serious after an assassination attempt, and his early return should not be expected.
