France to provide military aid to Ukraine and bolster air defense - General Staff
A delegation from the French Armed Forces, led by the Chief of the Joint Staff of the French Armed Forces, General Thierry Burkhard, has arrived in Ukraine on an official visit, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
While welcoming his colleague, Major General Anatolii Barhylevych, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the visit of the esteemed Thierry Burkhard at this difficult time for our country is a testament to systematic support and solidarity in the war against the Russian Federation.
During the visit, the foreign delegation was briefed on the operational situation in the combat zones, presented with evidence of the enemy's violations of the rules of war, and crimes against humanity. The parties also discussed the operation of the weapons and equipment provided by the French side, the prospects for further military assistance, particularly in protecting Ukrainian airspace, and the continued enhancement of Ukraine's defense capabilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Anatolii Barhylevych thanked his French colleague for the substantial military-technical assistance and the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel both in France and under the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine.

French military assistance
France has become one of the seven NATO countries that have agreed to supply Ukraine with equipment and missiles for air defense systems as part of a German initiative.
Additionally, the French parliament has called for lifting the ban on Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory using French-made weapons.
Meanwhile, French military forces have demonstrated how they are training Ukrainian pilots and artillerymen.
