France considers ban on disposable e-cigarettes
The French government is developing a national plan to combat smoking amid rising tobacco consumption. They plan to ban disposable electronic cigarettes, according to Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne, cited by BFM TV.
According to Borne, disposable electronic cigarettes may soon be prohibited in the country as part of the "new national plan to combat smoking."
"One can say that it is not nicotine, but it is a reflex and a gesture that young people become accustomed to. This is how they end up smoking," she added.
Popular among teenagers
France's Minister of Health, François Braun, has repeatedly emphasized the need to ban disposable electronic cigarettes as they "encourage young people to smoke." He has referred to the fact that disposable e-cigarettes are reusable as "environmental nonsense."
