The lymphatic system is an invisible but extremely important "mechanism" on which our health and appearance depend. It acts as a kind of "sewage system", removing bacteria, viruses, toxins, allergens, and excess water from the body. However, lymph stagnation can lead to serious problems, poisoning the body from the inside and causing unpleasant symptoms, states Ukrainian trainer Yurii Popko.

How to recognize lymph stasis

Here are some warning signs that may indicate a malfunctioning lymphatic system:

In the morning, you may observe facial swelling, bags under the eyes, swollen legs and fingers.

You may have skin problems - rashes, wrinkles, and sagging skin can be the result of lymph stagnation.

Lymph nodes may also be enlarged. Enlarged lymph nodes in the armpits, groin, neck, or behind the ears indicate an inflammatory process in the body.

Excessive sweating and bad odor

Lymph stagnation can lead to excessive sweating and body odor.

Overweight and cellulite

Although excess weight is often the result of overeating, in some cases, it can be associated with impaired lymphatic circulation. The same applies to cellulite, which is often accompanied by swelling and lymph stagnation.

Who is at risk

Lymph stasis can occur in people who lead a sedentary lifestyle, have a sedentary job, do not walk much, and do not exercise. Also at risk are lovers of sweets, smoked meats, sausages, and other semi-finished products that contain a lot of preservatives, flavor enhancers, and other harmful substances.

People who overeat (even healthy foods) can also suffer from lymphatic problems, as obesity often leads to poor circulation and lymphatic system function.

How to improve lymph function

Fortunately, there are ways to improve the functioning of the lymphatic system and prevent serious problems from developing. Here are some simple but effective tips:

Move more

Start small - walk at least 10,000 steps a day. Regular physical activity stimulates muscle contraction, which promotes lymph circulation.

Drink enough water

Clean water is the key to the health of the entire body, and the lymphatic system is no exception. The water intake for each person is individual and depends on many factors, such as weight, physical activity level, and climatic conditions. Be guided by your thirst and the color of your urine - it should be clear.

Eat right

Avoid unhealthy foods such as processed foods, fast food, sweets, and carbonated drinks. Give preference to natural and fresh foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals.
