A video claiming that Poland, Germany, and France would "return more than 40,000 conscripts to Ukraine within two months" has turned out to be fake, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD).

A video disguised as a report by a Western media outlet is circulating on social media. It claims that Poland, Germany, and France allegedly "committed to returning more than 40,000 men of conscription age to Ukraine within two months for military service."

To make the video appear credible, it uses real footage from the Coalition of the Willing meeting in Paris on January 6, overlaid with fabricated text.

The CCD stressed that this information is false.

"There are no official statements, decisions, or agreements between Ukraine and EU countries regarding the forced return of 40,000 people within two months, nor are there any such reports in Western media," the CCD states.

The Center emphasized that the spread of such fake content is part of a Russian information operation.

It is aimed at intimidating Ukrainians abroad, discrediting Ukraine's European partners, and artificially escalating tensions between Ukraine and the EU.

According to the CCD, Russian propaganda systematically produces fake videos and "news" that mimic the style of Western media to give disinformation an appearance of credibility and amplify its impact on audiences.

Ukrainian refugees

Germany has previously uncovered hundreds of individuals who applied for temporary protection as Ukrainian citizens while also holding other passports.

Poland said it can no longer accept Ukrainian refugees indefinitely. Warsaw needs to focus on inculturating and adapting Ukrainians already living in Poland.

Meanwhile, thousands of Ukrainian refugees in Israel may face the risk of deportation.
