Flood in Chile: Two dead, thousands homeless
In central-southern Chile, two people died due to the storm, tens of thousands left homeless, according to Reuters.
Chilean President Gabriel Boric declared a state of emergency on Monday due to heavy rains that have led to massive floods. Meteorologists anticipate even more rain in mountainous areas, increasing the risk of further floods and landslides.
According to Chile's emergency agency, nearly 34,000 people have been evacuated, and around 38,000 people are without electricity.
Gabriel Boric urged Chileans to heed evacuation orders, saying, "When these messages are received, it is not a joke, you must evacuate immediately."
Massive flooding in Slovenia
Heavy rains have triggered massive flooding in Slovenia, with rainfall ranging from 100 to 200 mm. Areas in the central and northern parts of the country are submerged. Rivers have overflowed, landslides have been reported, entire towns are without electricity, and at least 6 people have died.
