Five key features of iPhone 16e that will make iOS users want to upgrade

Apple's new iPhone 16e is not as budget-friendly as the iPhone SE that replaced it, but it is still a great option for users who want to upgrade their device without spending too much, reports 9to5Mac.
Apple Intelligence support
Apple usually provides pretty solid support for its devices for several years after their release. However, what has caused controversy is that the basic iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models do not support Apple Intelligence, despite the fact that they were released just a year before AI.
Whatever you think about the current capabilities of Apple Intelligence, future iOS updates will only expand the AI capabilities on the iPhone. And if you buy an iPhone 16e, you'll get all of these features. If you stick with the iPhone 15, you'll still have to wait for them.

A18 chip
The iPhone 16e came out less than 18 months after the iPhone 15, but its chip is as much as two generations more powerful. The A18 found in the new iPhone offers improved performance over the A16 Bionic in the iPhone 15. It's also a more forward-thinking chip, thanks in large part to support for Apple Intelligence.

Improved battery life
Few things matter more in an iPhone than battery life, and in this regard, the iPhone 16e stands out compared to the iPhone 15.
Apple provides the following data on battery life when playing videos:
- iPhone 16e - 26 hours
- iPhone 15 - 20 hours
Of course, your experience in day-to-day use may vary, but based on this data, you can expect a 30 percent increase in iPhone 16e battery performance.

Action button
The iPhone 15 was the last model to retain the classic vibration/mute switch. The same year, the iPhone 15 Pro introduced the Action button to replace this switch, and now it has been added to the iPhone 16e.
The Action button can be customized to perform almost any function, such as
- launching the Camera app
- switch to Focus mode
- start the timer
- activating a shortcut
- use Shazam to identify a song
- activating any control in the Control Center.
Of course, you can still customize the button to switch between "vibration" and "silent" modes if you need to.

8 GB of RAM
Finally, the iPhone 15 has 6 GB of RAM, and the new iPhone 16e comes with 8 GB. This 33 percent increase in storage allows for Apple Intelligence and should make for a smoother iOS experience overall, especially as future software updates demand more from your iPhone's hardware.
What are the losses when switching to iPhone 16e
- No top-width camera or macro mode
- No Dynamic Island, only a standard notch
- No MagSafe support, but wireless charging is available
- The screen is not as bright
- No cinematic or action mode for video
- No Ultra Wideband chip for precision searching.
Depending on how you use the device, these losses can be a significant problem or not affect your experience at all.
As a reminder, Apple will eliminate the main drawback of foldable smartphones in its upcoming iPhone.
