President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not seeking a ceasefire. Moreover, his goals remain unchanged, according to Yle.

"Putin is not seeking a truce, ceasefire, or peace. His fundamental goal, namely the destruction of Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, has not changed at all," Stubb said.

At the same time, he expressed hope that Western pressure will eventually force Russia to sit down at the negotiating table.

"Hopefully, we can continue pressure from the West to force Russia to a ceasefire," the Finnish president resumed.

His statements came after he participated in a virtual summit on Saturday, which included 26 leaders, including European partners, the EU Commission, NATO, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and others.

Additionally, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that if Putin refuses to agree to a ceasefire, the coalition of countries will increase pressure on him to eventually bring the negotiations to the table.
