On Sunday, February 22, the Winter Olympics in Italy will hold their final day of competition. Fans will learn the names of the last champions, after which the Games will officially conclude with the closing ceremony, according to the official schedule of the Games.
Hockey superfinal and cross-country marathon
The main event of the day will undoubtedly be the men’s hockey final. In the decisive match for the gold medal, eternal rivals Canada and the USA will face off. The participation of NHL stars is expected to make this game the most spectacular finale of the Olympics.
Fans will also witness the grueling women’s cross-country marathon. Participants will cover the 50 km classic-style distance without one of the favorites – Swedish skier Frida Karlsson withdrew from the start.
Ukraine at the end of the Games
There will be no Ukrainian athletes competing on the final day. Our athletes have already completed their events in the Italian arenas, so today Ukrainian fans will focus entirely on the clashes between the world’s top competitors.
Olympic medals will be contested today in five sports: cross-country skiing, bobsleigh, hockey, curling, and freestyle skiing.
