Fighting not in Pokrovsk: Ukrainian military clarifies situation on the ground

Ukrainian military denied that fighting for the city of Pokrovsk is ongoing. Hostilities are taking place on the outskirts of the city and in the area of the settlement of Shevchenko, according to Artem Prybylnov, the officer of the communications department of the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade Anna Kyivska.
According to him, in the strip for which the 155th Separate Mechanized Brigade is responsible, fighting is taking place on the outskirts of Pokrovsk and near the city. The enemy is trying to accumulate forces.
"Currently, the fighting is not for Pokrovsk itself. These are the southern outskirts: fields, outskirts of the settlement of Shevchenko, where the enemy is trying to accumulate. They are detected still on the approaches, reconnaissance 'guides' them to positions where they can be destroyed as efficiently as possible, and this is happening," said Prybylnov.
He reported that recently the Russians carried out the first armored group assault since March, which was repelled. It consisted of several 'boxes' and units on motorcycles.
The officer added that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups will continue to try to break through to Pokrovsk.

Sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Pokrovsk
Previously, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that last week an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to break through to Pokrovsk. Ukrainian defenders stopped the enemy assault.
In the operational-tactical group Donetsk, it was stated that the Defense Forces are carrying out active measures against enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Pokrovsk. According to the military, the sabotage groups are being destroyed before approaching the city.
On the evening of July 21, the analytical center DeepState wrote that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are being eliminated in Pokrovsk.
