Explosions reported in Moldova after unknown objects spotted in the sky

Local residents of two districts in Moldova reported possible unmanned aerial vehicles in the country's airspace, according to the press service of the Moldovan police.
At around 1:50 a.m. local time, a resident of the village of Berezlogi contacted the Orhei police, reporting that he had spotted a flying object in the sky that looked like a drone.
Later, at around 2:00 a.m., a resident of the village of Dereneu contacted the Călărași police, reporting that he had seen a bright light in the sky, followed by an explosion.
Law enforcement officers are conducting checks in the specified areas. According to the results of the preliminary investigation and inspection of the area, including outside populated areas, no debris, impact marks, or fires were found that would confirm an explosion on the ground or the fall of any object.
Incidents in Moldova's airspace
On the morning of September 19, Moldova recorded several unidentified drones in the Ștefan Vodă area that violated the country's airspace.
On the night of September 18, a powerful mysterious explosion occurred near the Moldovan village of Colonița, which borders Chișinău.
Local residents heard a loud sound at around 4 a.m., after which police began checking the surrounding areas.
Moldova's Defense Ministry was unable to detect a combat drone carrying explosives that fell near Chișinău due to its high speed and low flight altitude.
Earlier, on September 12, Moldova was forced to temporarily close part of its airspace. At the time, the restrictions were introduced because of an unidentified drone that entered the country from the direction of Ukraine. Because of this incident, several flights at Chișinău airport had to be delayed.
