Controversial MEP Grzegorz Braun has been banned from entering the grounds of the Polish parliament. Braun is known for his anti-Ukrainian actions, according to the press service of the Sejm (Poland’s parliament).

"The decision prohibiting entry and access to the premises and buildings administered by the Chancellery of the Sejm for Member of the European Parliament Grzegorz Braun has entered into force," the press service stated.

The decision was made because Braun was deemed a person who "by his behavior or appearance violates the dignity of the Sejm."

Braun’s controversial actions

As a reminder, in June of last year, Grzegorz Braun removed a Ukrainian flag from the Kościuszko Mound in Kraków. He later posted a video of the incident on the social network X.

Braun claimed the flag had been placed in an “inappropriate location” and said he would hand it over to the Ukrainian consulate in Kraków.

This year, Braun ran for president of Poland. During one of his campaign rallies in Biała Podlaska, an unidentified man removed a Ukrainian flag from the city hall building.

Notably, on May 6, the European Parliament lifted Braun’s immunity due to an incident in 2023, when he extinguished Hanukkah candles during an official ceremony in the Sejm.
