Erdogan reveals progress on restoring Black Sea grain corridor

Türkiye has intensified efforts to restore the grain corridor in the Black Sea and accelerated diplomatic steps in this direction. The issue has already been discussed with Ukraine, and the response was positive, according to a briefing by the Turkish President for journalists in New York.
"The issue of security in the Black Sea is very important both for us and for our region. The Black Sea is not a front in this war and must never become one," Erdoğan stated.
According to him, during negotiations with the parties, Türkiye is explaining in detail the need to restore maritime security - this will yield two immediate benefits: ensuring food security and preventing the expansion of the war.
Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye has clearly stated it does not accept attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea, regardless of who carries them out, and expects responsible behavior from all parties.
"We have once again intensified our efforts to restore the grain corridor. To this end, we are also accelerating our diplomatic steps," the president announced.
He added that he had discussed this issue once again with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and "the response I received from him was positive."
Zelenskyy has already met with Erdoğan and discussed security in the Black Sea on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Furthermore, just the day before, Türkiye submitted a de-escalation proposal for the Black Sea to Ukraine and Russia - the country has developed a plan to resolve the crisis in the region.
