President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the European Political Community for its support of Ukraine in its struggle against Russia. He emphasized that Ukraine needs not just diplomatic support but sufficient weaponry to defend against Russian aggression.

"We are defending ourselves not against Russian words but against Russian attacks. Therefore, we need sufficient weapons, not support in talks. Hugs with Putin will not help," Zelenskyy said.

The president highlighted that some global leaders have been trying to negotiate with the Russian dictator for many years, but this has only worsened the situation.

"Some of our leaders have been hugging him for 20 years, and things are only getting worse. He thinks only about wars and will not change. Only pressure can put limits on him," he stressed.

"Negotiations" on strikes against energy infrastructure

The Financial Times reported, citing diplomatic sources, that preliminary talks had reportedly begun between Russia and Ukraine, with Qatar as a mediator. The goal of these talks is to halt attacks on the energy infrastructure of both countries.

Sources indicate that discussions are at an early stage and have yet to yield concrete results.

In response to this information, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, claimed that the Financial Times report was a "fabrication."
