Elon Musk, the renowned entrepreneur and billionaire, is a father of 14 children from four different women. However, he has not maintained close relationships with all of them, and according to his ex-partner, he allegedly ignores some of their struggles.
Here's what is known about the heirs of the SpaceX and Tesla founder.
Over 20 years, Elon Musk has fathered 14 children. The mothers are Canadian writer Justine Wilson, singer Grimes, writer Ashley St. Clair, and the Director of Operations and Special Projects at Neuralink, Shivon Zilis.

Elon Musk became a father for the first time in 2002 when his ex-wife, Canadian writer Justine Wilson, gave birth to their son Nevada Alexander. However, tragically, the baby passed away at 10 weeks old. Later, the couple had five more children: twins Vivian and Griffin, and triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian. The couple divorced in 2008 after seven years of marriage.

Elon Musk's children with Singer Grimes
The flamboyant artist gave birth to Elon Musk’s first child with her in 2020. They announced the birth of their son, X Æ A-12. The former couple also raises their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl and son Techno Mechanicus.

Elon Musk's children with Ashley Saint Clair
In September 2024, Ashley and Elon became parents to a child together. The woman prefers to keep the baby out of the public eye due to the danger posed by Musk’s detractors. In February 2025, she filed a lawsuit to establish Musk as the father and seek sole custody. According to the writer, their romance lasted from May 2023 to early 2024.

Elon Musk's children with Shivon Zilis
Musk secretly became the father of twins, son Strider and daughter Azure, with Shivon Zilis in November 2021. In February 2024, the couple welcomed a daughter named Arkadia. By 2025, Zilis announced the birth of another child together, a son named Selden Licurgus.

Elon Musk's complicated relationships with his children
Elon Musk's relationship with his children, especially his daughter Vivian, has been particularly strained. In 2022, Vivian underwent a transgender transition and chose to change her name and distance herself from her father, saying she did not want to be associated with him. She also dropped his surname, stating that she "does not want any connection with her biological father."
In the summer of 2024, Musk claimed that his son had passed away and suggested he was deceived into supporting Vivian’s decision to transition. However, Vivian retorted that her father had been mostly absent from her life, making it impossible for him to understand who she truly was.
"He was present maybe 10% of the time. And that’s being generous. He had joint custody but didn’t actually participate," Vivian shared in an NBC News interview.
Interestingly, Vivian received support from her ex-partner, the singer Grimes, who recently expressed her frustrations about Musk's indifferent attitude toward their children. On X (formerly Twitter), Grimes publicly asked Musk not to ignore their child’s health issues, though she did not specify which child she was referring to. She later deleted the post.
"Please respond about our child's medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention. If you don't want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this. This is urgent, Elon.," Grimes wrote on February 20th on X.
She also criticized Musk's decision to bring their son, X Æ A-12, to political meetings, including at the White House.
