Occupied Luhansk came under a massive drone attack overnight on October 23. The strikes may have targeted communications facilities: communications went down in parts of the city, and power supply disruptions were reported, according to the monitoring channel Exilenova+.

Explosions were heard in Luhansk at around 4 a.m. Communications and electricity disruptions began after the blasts.

Videos posted online show an infrastructure facility near a communications tower being hit. Communications subsequently went down completely in parts of the occupied city.

No official information on the consequences of the attack has been released so far.

Luhansk has been under Russian occupation since 2014.

This is not the first attack on occupied Luhansk in recent days. Overnight on October 21, drones targeted the building of Lugacom, a communications operator, and the Telecommunications Services Center in the city. The day before, on October 20, a data center operated by Ugletelecom in occupied Donetsk came under attack.

That same day, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck Russian occupation forces’ command posts near Luhansk and Kurakhove, as well as Russian ammunition depots in Crimea and Donetsk region.
