Drones attacked a chemical plant in Russia’s Bashkortostan region overnight on October 29. The facility is the country’s only producer of a component used to manufacture body armor, according to OSINT monitoring channels.
Smoke rose near Bashkir Soda Company in the Russian city of Sterlitamak following a drone attack.
The company is the only producer in Russia of a component used to manufacture ballistic protection materials.
This facility produces terephthaloyl chloride exclusively in Russia. The chemical compound is used to make synthetic ballistic fibers, strong polymers, and aramid materials, including Kevlar-like materials.
These materials are essential for manufacturing modern body armor, helmets, and protective components for military equipment and aircraft.

Drones previously targeted the plant in late August.
As a reminder, drones also attacked Moscow on the evening of October 28 and overnight into October 29. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin repeatedly reported air defense activity and said drones were being shot down as they approached the city.
The attack disrupted operations at airports in the Moscow region. Temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures were imposed at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports.
According to Russian media, two planes flying from Turkey to Moscow turned back because of restrictions at Vnukovo.
