Overnight, drones carried out an attack on railway infrastructure facilities in the Rostov region of Russia near the locations of military units.
According to eyewitnesses, explosions were heard in Novocherkassk and nearby settlements. In particular, a strike was recorded in the area of the railway in the village of Persianovsky in the Oktyabrsky district.
Military Unit No. 22179 is located approximately 1.6 kilometers from the site of the explosion, and Repair and Maintenance Unit No. 3658 was previously located about 800 meters away. It is unknown whether it is currently operating there.
As a result of the attack on the Likhaya station, there were significant delays in train traffic. Passengers in local chat rooms confirmed the temporary suspension of service.
Regional Governor Yuriy Slyusar stated that, allegedly, over 40 drones were shot down and destroyed. At the same time, he acknowledged that disruptions in the railway’s overhead contact system had been recorded.

Strikes on Russian infrastructure
Recently, strike drones have been systematically destroying Russia’s logistics and energy infrastructure.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently confirmed the successful strike on the Krymskaya oil pumping station, which is critical for supplying the Russian forces.
In addition, Ukrainian drones have demonstrated the ability to strike targets over a thousand kilometers away. For example, two Russian drilling platforms were recently struck in the Caspian Sea; Russia had been using them to extract resources and support its military capabilities.
According to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will not cease their strikes on Russian oil depots, as this directly undermines Russia's ability to wage war.
