Russia launched drones and cruise missiles at Ukraine on the night of June 29, triggering nationwide air raid alerts, according to the Ukrainian Air Force and statements from the heads of several regional military administrations.

Drones were detected in Ukrainian airspace starting in the evening.

At 1:31 AM Kyiv time, the Air Force confirmed a high-speed target heading toward Mykolaiv. Two minutes later, another target was spotted.

At 1:59 AM Kyiv time, a cruise missile was detected in the airspace, initially flying past Zaporizhzhia and heading toward Dnipropetrovsk, then Kharkiv, before changing course toward the Poltava region.

The Air Force also reported a missile over the Mykolaiv region moving in a northwestern direction.

Meanwhile, air raid alerts were declared across almost all of Ukraine.

At 2:10 AM Kyiv time, a MiG-31K fighter jet was reported to have taken off from the Savasleyka airfield.

The Air Force reported two high-speed targets heading toward Kremenchuk. Drones were also moving toward the city.

In addition, UAVs were flying in the direction of Ternopil.

Attack on Kremenchuk

Updated at 3:14 AM Kyiv time - Russia launched a combined strike on Kremenchuk. According to the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, an industrial facility in the Kremenchuk district was hit. A fire broke out. No reports of casualties have been received.

Strike on Zaporizhzhia

Updated at 3:25 AM Kyiv time - the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that a missile strike damaged a production facility. No reports of casualties have been received.

Updated at 3:41 AM Kyiv time - Another MiG-31K was recorded taking off from the Savasleyka airfield.

Drone attack on Kyiv

Shortly before midnight, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that air defense systems were operating in Obolon and the Kyiv region.

Mykolaiv

Explosions were heard in Mykolaiv after a warning about a high-speed target. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych confirmed a high-speed object was flying toward the city.

Lviv region

Regional military administration head Maksym Kozytskyi also confirmed air defense activity in the area.

Zaporizhzhia region

Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov reported that air defense systems are active. Explosions have also been heard.

Attack on Ukraine on June 29

Russia launched drones in the evening of June 28, prompting air raid alerts across nearly all regions.

The Air Force warned of potential missile strikes targeting Kyiv, Kremenchuk, Sumy, and other cities.

Later, Ukrainians were alerted that Russian strategic Tu-95MS bombers had taken off amid the drone attack.
