Draft notices in Belarus will be issued via messages: Lukashenkо signs law
Belarusian regime leader Alexander Lukashenko has signed a law that requires Draft notices to be delivered via SMS messages, according to the National Legal Internet Portal of Belarus.
"Regarding the necessity to appear at the military commissariat (separate unit) at the place of residence, citizens may be informed via SMS messages," the document states.
Furthermore, mandatory appearance via SMS will be required in case of mobilization.
The law specifies that "when called up for military service during mobilization, Belarusian citizens are also obligated to attend events upon draft notices, being notified via SMS messages."
Given that in Belarus, a mobile phone number can only be obtained with a passport, telecommunications operators must provide the numbers of conscripts upon request from military commissariats within a week.
