US President Donald Trump has followed through on his promise to buy a Tesla in support of Elon Musk after the billionaire faced backlash, boycotts, and a stock drop due to his work with the US government. What car did Trump purchase from Musk?
Earlier, Trump defended Musk on Truth Social, saying the Tesla CEO was risking everything to help the US and doing a fantastic job. He then vowed to buy a new Tesla to show confidence and support for Elon Musk, a truly great American.
A video circulating on X shows Trump buying a brand-new Tesla from Musk and personally thanking him.
"Number one, it's a great product — as good as it gets — and number two, because Elon has devoted his energy and his life to doing this and I think he has been treated very unfairly," Trump said.
The president chose a red Tesla Model S, tested it out, and got behind the wheel.
“You think Biden could get into that car? I don't think so,” Trump quipped.
