Don't eat these foods for breakfast on empty stomach
A proper breakfast is balanced, providing the body with the necessary energy and strength for the first part of the day. Incorrect choices may burden the digestive system and slow you down. Therefore, it's advisable to opt for complex carbohydrates for satiety, proteins for strength, and fiber.
Read below about products that are strongly discouraged from consuming on an empty stomach, according to Fit for Fun.
Raw vegetables
While raw food is considered healthy, it's not ideal for breakfast. Raw vegetables can be difficult to digest and may cause stomach discomfort, particularly for those prone to bloating. Eating them on an empty stomach can be especially stressful for the digestive system.
Pitfall: Yogurt
Fruit yogurt might seem like a good breakfast choice, but it's only partially beneficial on an empty stomach. The beneficial probiotics in yogurt aren't properly absorbed when consumed in the morning, as stomach acid tends to destroy them before they reach the intestines.
What helps: Consuming a few nuts, a slice of avocado, or a spoonful of oatmeal beforehand can create a buffer in the stomach.
Keep bananas away
While bananas are rich in essential nutrients, they're not recommended on an empty stomach. Like other glucose-containing foods, bananas can cause a spike in blood sugar levels, followed by a rapid drop, leading to increased hunger cravings later in the day.
Citrus acidity
Enjoying a large glass of orange juice for breakfast might sound refreshing, but it's not advisable on an empty stomach. The acidity of citrus fruits can lead to acidity issues. An exception is lemon water, as its juice is diluted with water.
