Dobropillia remains under Ukrainian control as Azov responds to Russian claims of encirclement

Dobropillia remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, despite Russia’s claims that it has surrounded the city and that its troops are making gains in this area, according to the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov.
Azov stated that the Russian military and political leadership’s plans for the fall include encircling Dobropillia. But the city remains under the control of the Defense Forces.
“The city of Dobropillia remains under the control of the Defense Forces,” the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine emphasized.
According to the military, Russian assault groups are attempting to infiltrate the space between defensive positions on the outskirts of the city. Ukrainian defenders are detecting these groups and eliminating them.
Azov also noted that Russian statements about the situation around Dobropillia do not reflect the actual state of affairs.
The Corps urged the public to follow official reports from the Ukrainian Defense Forces and not to share information from Russian propaganda sources.
In early August, Ukrainian units carried out an operation that thwarted an attempt by Russian troops to reach logistical routes for encircling Druzhkivka and launching an attack toward Dobropillia.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), on September 24 and 25, Russian troops continued offensive operations in the Kostiantynivka sector but made no confirmed advances. At the same time, they recently advanced southeast of Dobropillia.
