Diehl company warehouse on fire in Berlin, no harm to IRIS-T production - media
A warehouse of Diehl company is on fire in Berlin. Among other things, the company produces IRIS-T air defense systems but the fire does not threaten the pace of weapon production, reports Defense Express.
Diehl Metall plant is burning, but not Diehl Defense, notes the media. Both plants belong to the Diehl corporation, whose annual sales amount to 3.5 billion euros (3.77 billion dollars). The corporation also includes Diehl Aviation, Diehl Controls, Diehl Metering, and dozens of separate production units and sites.
"It is the premises of one of them - Diehl Metal Applications GmbH - that suffered from the fire. It deals with products from copper alloys, electroplating, complex stamped products," Defense Express says.
Presumably, part of the production of the affected enterprise is involved in the production of missiles or IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems. But it is not about the final stage. Therefore, it is not about a catastrophic threat to the pace of IRIS-T production.
